Capabilities of Bend Research Inc.

From Molecules to Medicine Cabinet

Bend Research’s core business is technology development. Using a highly creative, interdisciplinary approach, scientists and engineers focus on developing new solutions to enhance the performance and delivery of pharmaceutical compounds. Our uncommon intersections of disciplines result in novel solutions to broad classes of problems.

At Bend Research, the research of new technologies and the application of those technologies to promising pharmaceutical compounds is done in small, collaborative groups that work across the spectrum from basic science to applied technology. Bend Research maintains a balance among four main areas of technological development:

  1. the research of new pharmaceutical-delivery technologies and the application of mature technologies to pharmaceutical compounds,
  2. the support and development of promising pharmaceutical compounds that have potential as new medicines,
  3. the development of effective manufacturing methods for delivery of specific pharmaceutical compounds and the transfer of those methods to commercial sites, and
  4. other activities such as the protection of intellectual property, process understanding and modeling, equipment manufacture, and the manufacture of clinical supplies.

Scientists and engineers at our research, pilot, and cGMP manufacturing facilities closely interact to troubleshoot and give immediate feedback at every level of technological development, from molecular characterization to the transfer of successful manufacturing processes to commercial sites. The result is efficient, streamlined development of innovative pharmaceutical-delivery technologies.

A “right first time” mentality and an experienced understanding of the final goal of commercialization has contributed to Bend Research's success in developing robust formulations for pharmaceutical compounds that have good potential as new medicines.
