Bruce DeKock - J.D.
General Counsel and Senior Vice President
Mr. DeKock is General Counsel and Senior Vice President for Bend Research and is responsible for corporate legal affairs and management of the patent group. His areas of legal expertise include the protection of intellectual property and complex commercial litigation. He has practiced before the federal courts in patent and trademark cases, including the U.S. District Court for the Districts of Oregon and Arizona and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and Federal Circuit. Mr. DeKock earned his J.D. from Boalt Hall at the University of California - Berkeley. He is a member of the Oregon State Bar and a licensed patent attorney.
In addition to his background in law, Mr. DeKock holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Stanford University and a master’s degree in chemistry from the University of California - Berkeley. He was also a research associate at the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Munich, Germany, where he constructed an ion optics system for molecular scattering experiments. He has been with Bend Research since 2002.
