Dry Coating Based Surface Modification of Amorphous Spray-Dried Dispersions to Improve Powder Flowability through Densification and Particle Cohesion Reduction

In this work, we investigate the effect of guest particle surface coverage, size, and chemical structure on powder flow and density of SDDs. In addition, since spray drying process conditions may substantially impact powder properties, the effect of SDD material differences on the effectiveness of dry powder coating was studied. Finally, the effect of powder coating on the mechanical properties of the powder coated SDD was investigated.
